I offer three interior book formatting packages:
All packages are for fiction or nonfiction manuscripts; unfortunately at this time I do not offer services for picture books. All prices are listed in USD and are subject to length, timing, and complexity (including interior images). For manuscripts with fewer than 50k words or more than 200k words, please use the contact me page to request a modified quote.
Additionally, please note that I do not contract for stories featuring non-consensual sex, incest, or bigotry against Indigenous people, people of color, LGBTQ+ people, neurodivergent people, disabled people, etc. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like clarification.
EBOOK FORMATTING: $59
The ebook interior formatting package includes professionally formatted .epub files appropriate for Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Google Play, and Apple Books, among others.
This price is a one-time fee due at the same time you send your manuscript over for formatting. I do not charge royalties, but I do ask for a note on the copyright page that reads “Interior formatting completed by Night Blooming Books.”
Additionally, while cover formatting included in all interior formatting packages, please keep in mind that I am not a cover artist and cannot design one for you. Your cover must be provided as a .jpg or similar file type at the same time as your manuscript.
PAPERBACK FORMATTING: $59
The paperback interior formatting package includes a professionally formatted .pdf file appropriate for Ingram Spark, Draft2Digital, or Amazon KDP.
This price is a one-time fee due at the same time you send your manuscript over for formatting. I do not charge royalties, but I do ask for a note on the copyright page that reads “Interior formatting completed by What Smack Said.”
Additionally, while covers are included in all interior formatting packages, please keep in mind that I am not a cover artist and cannot design one for you. Your cover must be provided as a .jpg or similar file type at the same time as your manuscript.
COMBO PACKAGE (EBOOK AND PAPERBACK): $99
The combination ebook + paperback interior formatting package includes professionally formatted .epub files appropriate for Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Google Play, and Apple Books, as well as a .pdf file appropriate for Ingram Spark or Amazon KDP.
The standard content pages included in these files are:
- The cover
- The manuscript
- A title page
- A copyright page
- A table of contents
- An “about the author” page with an author photo
Other free additions available upon request include:
- A dedications page
- An acknowledgements page
- A foreward
- An introduction
- A preface
- An afterward
- A works cited page
- An “also by” page listing other works by the author
Additionally, paperback books require the selection of a “trim size,” which is the size of the finished product. Only one size may be chosen; if you’d like to do two different sizes, that constitutes two projects, each of which will cost the base $59 fee.
Popular trim size options are as follows:
- 5″ x 8″ (12.7 cm x 20.3 cm)
- 5.25″ x 8″ (13.3 cm x 20.3 cm)
- 5.5″ x 8.5″ (14 cm x 21.6 cm)
- 6″ x 9″ (15.2 cm x 22.9 cm)

ADDITIONAL CHARGES
These features are not included in the base package price. For example, an ebook package that included five images would come to $94; a paperback package with a rush put on it would come to $189; a combo package with three images would come to $132; etc.
- Edits: $1 per edit
- Images: $1 per image
- Rush fee: $100 for a seven day turnaround
